Flamingo Land is a Theme Park, Zoo and Holiday Village in one with magnificent views over Ryedale and the Yorkshire Moors, but it’s best known as the largest amusement park in North England. Castle Howard is a privately-owned stately home that’s partially open to the public. You can spend happy hours exploring woodland paths, picnicking by the lake and discovering flowers in the Walled Garden. Visit these weird and wonderful giant rock formations, created by an immense river over 100 million years before the dinosaurs walked the earth. Brimham Rocks and its heather moorland are both Sites of Special Scientific Interest and are a magnet for geologists, naturalists, climbers and walkers, as well as families who love the freedom to explore this amazing place.

West Cliff Beach is the main beach in Whitby. It’s a classic ‘bucket and spade’ location, with two miles of beautiful flat sand and bright beach huts, which are available for hire, as are deckchairs and windbreaks. The size of this beach makes it ideal for ball games, kite flying, and paddling.
