The market town of Beverley

Beverley is a historic market town and the county town of the East Riding of Yorkshire. Beverley has plenty to please everyone, with its towering gothic minster, pretty market squares and beautiful Georgian townhouses.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park

With around 475 animals including over 60 different species, Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a fantastic place to experience a walk-through wildlife adventure! Most animals you can see at the park are endangered or threatened in the wild.

Howden Minster

A stone’s throw away is the Grade 1 listed Howden Minster, which has the elaborately decorated ruins of a 14th-century chancel and chapter house attached to its still operational minster church. Howden itself is a stunning little gem of a place, with beautiful old buildings and charming shops.

Blacktoft Sands

Just 40 minutes away from the Park, Blacktoft Sands is an RSPB-managed nature reserve in the East Riding of Yorkshire. This magical reserve hosts a diverse population of waders, warblers and raptors, which can be easily spotted from the accessible trails and hides.

Selby Abbey

Half an hour away, is the small Yorkshire town of Selby, which has one of the most superb Abbey churches to be found anywhere in England. In its varied history, it’s been home to a community of monks, destroyed by fire and rebuilt, and now resides at the heart of community life.

William’s Den

With both indoor and outdoor play areas and obstacle courses, William’s Den is the perfect place to take the kids, whatever the weather. If the weather is good, you can watch the kids run wild and tire themselves out outdoors while you enjoy the fresh air. And it’s only 12 minutes’ drive from Wild Rose.

Ilkley Moor

This absolutely stunning Yorkshire Moor is only 5 minutes away from Moor Valley Park and is an unmissable place to spend a day, whether that’s walking, running, or climbing the famous ‘Cow and Calf’ rocks.

Harewood House

Play hide and seek in the magical garden or take a tour around the historic home for a glimpse into the lives of past residents of the house. Harewood House hosts a variety of events all year round, so there’s bound to be something for everyone.

Mother Shipton’s Cave

In historic woodland along the River Nidd is Mother Shipton’s Cave, the birthplace of the famous prophetess. It’s next to the Petrifying Well, England’s oldest visitor attraction, and tells the story of Mother Shipton and the infamous waters that turn objects to stone.

Flamingo Land Resort

Flamingo Land is a Theme Park, Zoo and Holiday Village in one with magnificent views over Ryedale and the Yorkshire Moors, but it’s best known as the largest amusement park in North England. It has lots to offer families, from its range of junior rides and the Peter Rabbit playground, to the 140 animal species in the zoo.
